ABOUT ME
I am a marine biology graduate from the University of Exeter, with a lifelong connection to the ocean and a passion for exploring, understanding and protecting the natural world.
Born and raised in Shanghai, China, I spent much of my childhood travelling throughout Asia, with holidays along the coastlines of the South China Sea and across destinations including the Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand. These experiences fostered an early fascination with the ocean, its extraordinary biodiversity and the diverse environments that exist along our coastlines.
Following my International Baccalaureate diploma, I took a gap year to pursue this interest further, travelling to the British Virgin Islands to attain my PADI Open Water certification. Three months later I had completed my Divemaster course, gained over 100 dives and discovered a passion for sharing the wonders of the underwater world with others. Further travels, including time in New Zealand and Japan, broadened my appreciation of the relationships between landscapes, coastal ecosystems and the communities that depend on them.
I subsequently spent three years studying Marine Biology at the University of Exeter, graduating in summer 2026. My academic studies have deepened my understanding of marine ecosystems, biodiversity and the environmental challenges facing our oceans.
Photography has become a way for me to bring these interests together. Through underwater, landscape and astrophotography, alongside film documenting my travels and dives, I aim to capture the beauty of the natural world and share the experiences that inspire me.
Looking ahead, I hope to combine my scientific background, practical diving experience and visual storytelling to contribute to marine conservation, habitat protection and the preservation of biodiversity. Ultimately, I want my work to encourage greater appreciation of the natural world and support efforts to protect it for future generations.

PHOTOGRAPHY KIT
Photography is a way for me to document my interactions with the natural world, from exploring beneath the ocean’s surface to capturing landscapes, wildlife and the night sky. As a marine biology graduate, I am particularly interested in the relationship between photography and conservation, using images and film to share the beauty of the natural environment and encourage a greater appreciation of the world around us.
Underwater photography
Olympus Tough TG-6
My go-to camera for documenting underwater life and the environments I encounter while diving. Nothing more than the camera and the OM System PT-059 underwater housing. Its compact, rugged design makes it practical for exploring beneath the surface.
Action photography and video
DJI Osmo Action 5
Used to capture action, travel and outdoor experiences, adding a more immediate, first-person perspective to my photography and films.
Aerial photography
DJI Mini 3 Pro
For capturing landscapes and coastlines from above, revealing patterns, scale and perspectives that are difficult to appreciate from the ground.
Travel, landscapes and astrophotography
Fujifilm X-T4
My main camera for travel, landscape and night-sky photography. I use a versatile collection of lenses to capture everything from expansive scenery to distant details and compositions beneath the stars.
Lenses: 10–24mm, 16–55mm and 55–200mm.
